Knitting

The Year 6's, 7's & 8's have been working on stitching for this whole week. We were all given a piece of material this big and we have to stitch things that represent us. When we are done, we will sew it all together and place it somewhere in our school.
This is what I have done so far.

Seismic Challenge: Comic Strip

Above is a comic strip I made of the 'Seismic Challenge' we did back in term 2. It shows the steps we took, but a very summarised version.

WALT: Create a comic strip to tell a story.

Probability

For maths this term, we have been learning about probability. I've learnt a lot of things about probability, like that some of it involves 'chance.' Gambling has a lot to do with chance (and a bit of luck) and it has been our main learning for the past three weeks.

Here is just a small piece of what I have been learning:

Aaliyah: 

My first week here was a bit difficult. I struggled to adjust to my new surroundings, like having to work with a larger group of children and all the new seating spaces. But the thing I find hardest to do here is having to call my classroom ‘Wairua Pakiki 4’ instead of just ‘Room 7’. Though there are a lot of things I miss about my old school, I think having this new building is a good change for us.

Yesterday, was St Pius X Feast Day. We had a Mass and after that, the whole school shared some cakes. To celebrate, here is a slide of Pope Pius X life.

Step 1 - Dice the onion & chicken
Put it in the pan and fry it until it's cooked

Step 2 - Add butter chicken sauce , spices & cream

Step 3 - Stir for 10 minutes and serve it on a plate with rice.

Maths Learning Week 3

Narrative Writing - The Gallery in the Cave

WALT: Continue a Narrative prompt.

Prompt Given:

Kate glanced across at Jessica and noticed that
she was nervous too. The guides had checked everyone’s
equipment thoroughly and now the group was about to
abseil down a sheer rock face into the eerie, unknown
depths of a cave.

Technology @ Tamaki College - Mince Wrap

Step 1 - Dice the onion and fry it with mince until it is cooked
Step 2 - Add 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/2 a cup of hot water , then stir for 5 minutes , take it off the heat
Step 3 - Get the pastry & cut it into 4 equal piece
Step 4 - Put the paper liner on the tray then lay the pastry onto the paper
Step 5 - Add the mince mixture onto the pastry then add another layer of pastry on the top
Step 6 - Get the fork and press it against each other to close it
Now put it in the oven on 200 degrees until golden brown.

Step 1: Get your lettuce and tomato, slice the lettuce and dice the tomato.

Step 2: Now get your wrap and spread mayo on half of it.

Step 3: Put the lettuce, tomato, chicken (that's already sliced) and cheese on half of the wrap. Then wrap it.
